Your Mac

Any MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, iMac, Mac Studio or Mac Pro on macOS 13 Ventura or later. Macs with Apple silicon can use any cable; Intel Macs use Thunderbolt or Ethernet.

Not supported

iMacs from 2011 and earlier (many have Target Display Mode), the 24-inch iMacs with Apple silicon (they use AirPlay), and Windows PCs (here's what works with a PC).

Which iMac is mine?

On the iMac, choose Apple menu › About This Mac. The name and year are under the macOS version, for example "iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017)".
